Emergency Drinking Water

Clean drinking water is a critical consideration when planning for emergency survival and disaster situations. Whether it’s the home, auto or office plan to include some water ready to drink such as from pouches or bottles and consider a minimum of 48-72 hours of supply ready to drink. Once this supply runs out it may become necessary to clean or filter additional water so it is safe for drinking. There are a variety of water storage methods from basic water bottles to long term water storage barrels and tanks.

To filter water consider the number of people the survival plan is designed to support and how the water will be stored once filtered. A survival straw may be a great option for one person or for an auto kit while water storage containers and a larger filter can provide more options for the home and family.
